Snarry ficcy reccy post
There are so many fests going on at the moment that it is hard to know what to read next. Can I suggest this fic? Not just because it was for me, but because it is clever, well-written, unusual and altogether excellent. It is Snarry, and both Harry and Snape are wonderfully true to their characters, Snape has a remarkable new career and Harry makes a sacrifice and gains something wonderful. Go and read 'Kestrel' in hds_beltane over on lj and tell the author what a bloody good story they have written. You won't regret it!

Oh my God.

Okay, so I'm thinking to myself, 'coffee and a story this morning, then clean out closets for the rest of the day.' I pop onto my friends list, intending to see what was posted at the Snarry Games, and come across your rec. Something about the tone of it - a sense of excitement and something like awe - makes me think, 'Snarry Games will be there later. You trust Gingertart. Take a look at the story.'

Oh my God.

I just got to the sacrifice. I'll let you know when I'm finished. If the rest of the story lives up to this, I think I'll be alternately blessing you and grumbling about dirty closets.

By the way, my coffee's cold now, thank you very much. *g*

*sends heating charm at your coffee*

I was supposed to have housework to do this morning and I just read this fic instead, so I thought I'd just, you know, pass it on...... *g*

I wonder if I know who wrote it? *ponders*

It has a familiar flavor to me. I want to see if the person who I'm thinking of is writing for [info]hds_beltane or not. I didn't think she was, and if so, I would have put her down for a Draco/Harry instead of a Snarry.

Cheers to getting such a lovely pressie!

Right. I'm back.

A brilliant story. Thanks so much for pointing it out. It's one I plan to print out and keep to read again. It's sort of funny, but the best words I can think of to use to describe it are graceful and passionate. Just lovely.

I'm so glad you recced this fic, otherwise I might have missed it. What a marvelous, quiet, psychologically astute, and magic-drenched fic. Such an individual voice. I've been thinking about it all evening.

Isn't it brilliant? I have a feeling that I know who wrote it... but I won't say anything in case I'm wrong!

Yes, it's brilliant and I'm envious. Such control of the writing.

I haven't the faintest idea who might have written this. There are a few people whose styles are dead giveaways, but for the rest I haven't a clue. And the approach here is so different, almost as if this person's never written Snarry before.

Now watch, it'll be someone known far and wide for their Snarry fic and I'll end up eating my words. :D
